At our factory, we believe not in the mechanical speed of production lines, but in the handwork, patience, and years of experience of our master tailors. For us, a suit is not merely a collection of cut and sewn fabric pieces; it is a living art that fits its wearer flawlessly and takes on their body shape over time.
The most critical point of our production process, which we carry out entirely by hand (bespoke / sartorial), is formed by the Canvas (Horsehair Canvas) technology—considered the "skeleton" of the jacket—and our traditional hand-stitching techniques.
The Essence That Shapes the Soul of the Jacket: What is Canvas (Horsehair Interlining)?
What allows a jacket to stand structured, balanced, and rich from the outside is the internal construction located between the outer fabric and the lining. In mass-produced jackets, this structure is fused to the fabric using chemical adhesives (fusible interlining) through heat application. However, in authentic handcraftsmanship, there is no place for chemical adhesives.
In our atelier, we use canvas woven from entirely natural fibers such as horsehair, wool, and cotton. This natural layer is never glued to the fabric; it is attached with thousands of tiny, independent hand stitches (pad stitching). Thus, the fabric breathes, moves freely, and most importantly, memorizes the wearer's physical posture and body structure over time.
Full Canvas Craftsmanship: Sartorial Excellence
Full Canvas represents the pinnacle of craftsmanship and quality attainable in suit making. In this technique, the horsehair canvas covers the entire front body of the jacket, extending from the shoulder point all the way down to the hem.
Technical Content and Production Process
Floating Canvas: The horsehair canvas is never glued to the outer fabric. Our master tailors patiently work the lapel and chest areas, attaching the canvas to the fabric using blind hand stitches. This allows the internal layer and the outer fabric to move independently of one another.
Lapel Roll: In Full Canvas jackets, the lapel is never pressed flat with an iron. Thanks to the natural tension created by hand stitching, the lapel curls toward the chest with a soft, voluminous arch (creating a dimensional 3D effect).
Body Memory: As a full canvas jacket is worn, it gradually molds to the wearer through body heat and moisture. Over time, it transforms into a second skin that drapes effortlessly over its owner.
Breathability and Longevity: Because no chemical adhesives are used, the pores of the fabric remain completely open. This keeps the jacket lightweight and cool while maximizing its durability against dry cleaning and years of frequent wear.
Half Canvas Craftsmanship: The Perfect Balance of Structure and Lightness
Half Canvas is a highly technical and skilled tailoring method that blends traditional horsehair canvas craftsmanship with the modern quest for comfort and lightness.
Technical Content and Production Process
Strategic Structuring: In this method, the natural horsehair canvas is applied to the shoulder, chest, and lapel areas of the jacket—the visual focal points that most require structural integrity and form retention. From the waist down to the hem, a lighter internal structure is utilized.
Chest and Lapel Stance: Because the most vital area of the jacket—the chest and lapel—is crafted entirely by hand with the exact same care as a Full Canvas garment, that distinctive rich stance and flawless lapel roll are perfectly preserved.
High Comfort and Lightness: Thanks to the lightened construction in the lower sections, the overall weight of the jacket is significantly reduced. It offers exceptional freedom of movement, particularly for individuals in warmer climates or those who are dynamically active throughout the day.
